Closing Time

So, next week is finals and then the semester can come to an end. I should be graduating around this time, but as I transferred to a new school just two years ago, I still have a bit to graduate. Either way, it's one more semester down. Probably the roughest yet. I'm just glad it's time to close out this semester. 14 weeks sure does fly by.

That is all I want to say. For now.

It's been far too long - aka, I'm lazy.

It has been far too long. It's like I don't care that the interweb is not up to date with the amazing life of me. But hey, school and work sometimes don't allow for what I once called "free time" or "relaxing." I just want that damn piece of paper that says "Bachelor or Arts" on it. Then I can stay in school to get another piece of paper that says "Masters of Arts" on it! Woohoo! Such is the life I live... To be honest, I'm ready for a real job that allows me to start living; go on vacations, see the world with my lady, and not worry about money in general. To be honest, if I was to inherit or win a large amount of money, say, an amount that two people could easily live on for the rest of their lifes, I wouldn't even think about school. But that won't happen. Ever.

Anyways, I have recently started playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and it is very impressive. I just wish I had more time to play. And I think on that note, I will skip talking about how apprehensive I am about taking my girlfriend (we've been dating for just over a year and she hasn't met my family yet) home with me for Thanksgiving break and go straight to playing Modern Warfare 2!

Hasta Pronto - Well, probably not.

Another sleepless night...

This is getting old. Very old. I didn't sleep last night, again. All thanks to my wonderful apartment for not properly fixing my air conditioning unit - THREE times in a row. Each time I told them that it wasn't just the coolant, they just ignored me and refilled the coolant. You wouldn't have to refill the coolant every other week if you'd just fix the LEAK. Maybe if I get on their ass they will properly fix the problem. Maybe. On a side note, I'm at work... more in a physical sense than a mental sense. I can barely even write this. I'll probably have to edit it when I'm thinking straight.

Maybe I should just be mad at Texas for being so hot at the beginning of October. I can't wait to get out of this place on and to more mild or frigid climates. Hello, Northwest.. eventually.

Zombieland opens tonight, guys!

I always daydream.

"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night, in the dusty recesses of their minds, awake in the day to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it reality."

This means a lot to me. I've always dreamed of doing something I loved doing as a career. Like a hobby that pays the bills. I mean, athletes make money by playing a game. Why can't I make a living doing something I love? Well, I plan on it. Why am I in college if I don't plan on using my degree to make a living? I guess sometimes plans don't work out, right? I'll have my degree as a fall back plan. Or something. Right on.

Hopefully I can say "HELLO" to the Pacific Northwest in the next couple of years.

I think I'll go climb a big mountain one of these days. And maybe just keep climbing them.

Life

As you can tell I'm the real motivated type when it comes to updating my blog. Shut the hell up, I'll do what I want. So anyways, I figured I would give a few updates while I'm at work and have nothing better to do (work is nothing better to do, by the way). Here's what I have so far..

First off, the past few weeks have gone far too fast. I can't even recall where my winter break started, mainly because it ended so fast. Meh. So first things first. I can't help but say how happy I am with my life right now. So many things have gone amazing, and the few things that haven't been so great are far outweighed by the good things. Alana. She came into my life last semester, and she has turned it upside down since. I can only be grateful that I enrolled in Journalism 2010 last semester. I met her in that class and NEVER thought anything this great would ever come of it. I'm not going to write a book about how crazy she makes me (in only the best ways), but I will say a few things about her that makes me realize what I have been missing out on for so long. If you were ever told by someone else, "There is someone out there that is just like you, you just haven't found them yet", well this is my someone. I can honestly say that I thought I would never find someone I was entirely happy with, but now I can. She can make me laugh one minute, and then the next be completely serious. She makes me want to be a better person. Even though I have only really gotten to know her well over the last month or so, I can honestly say I've never felt this way in my entire life. She is my shoulder in a time when I need it most. But the most impressive thing is that we can both be ourselves around eachother, which coincidently we are both complete dorks. I could go on and on about her and every little thing that makes her who she is, but that could take a while.

On a completely different note, I just moved last Wednesday and my new place is amazing. On top of my roommate actually having a room, I can walk to work and school. I work at the University I attend. The new apartment in itself is great and so is the location, which happens to be right beside a sweet graveyard, but the faculty there kind of seem like Nazis. Considering I don't have to deal with them more than once a month (to deliver rent) I don't think it will be a big concern. I think it should be a good old time!

School starts on Tuesday, which means I will be super busy, but I'm ready for this to happen. I guess you could say I've got a good start to the new year. Lets keep it that way.

Holidays, Plans, and Traveling.

So, just as many other people, I have to travel quite a bit over this years Holiday break. To the say the least, I am not so excited about driving from North Dallas to Austin, and TWICE in one week at that. I had work today from 8a.m. to 5p.m., yes, on Christmas Eve. Once I get off work I get to promptly hop in my car and make a 3.5 hour trip to Central Texas to spend Christmas with my family. I wish I could really just say this will be enjoyable, but right after presents are opened and food is eaten I have to hop right back in my car and drive back to Denton. Sigh. Don't get me wrong, I love my family and can't wait to see them, but it just sucks I have to work the day before and after Christmas (don't feel too bad for me, as I was the one that volunteered to do this).

I get to drive RIGHT BACK to Austin on Friday night, with a friend this time. We are all going to a see a mutual friend of ours that decided he likes Canadian higher education. Oddly enough, his parents live near Austin. So the master plan is that myself, my roommate (he's also one of the gang, not just a tag-along), and 2 of my "OG" friends that will be stationed in my home town for the holidays to meet up and hang out with our friend from the great white north! It has been YEARS since we have all been in the same room at one time. I am seriously impressed with myself that I was able to get everyone to go! I'm excited and even though it will only be a 1 night and 1 day gathering, I believe it will be one hell of a night in Austin, Texas!

This post was in a huge rush, as I only had 15 minutes to compose it before I got off work, but you can get the fuck over it. Those are my holiday plans and I can't wait for them to unfold!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!
